In honor of Ian Paisley, departed but not dead, we here publish his precis of Scottish Presbyterian James Aitken Wylie’s classic, The Papacy is the Antichrist. This was once common knowledge among Protestants, but the passage of time has turned the Church’s opposition to Antichrist into complacency, and in some cases, into complicity. But we stand with Paisley and Wylie in their insistence that “the Papacy … is the perfect CONVERSE of Christ as seen in His life.”

Christ Predicted the Papacy as the Antichrist Christ predicts the dynasty of the Antichrist and the False Prophet. Note carefully His language. He warns in Matthew chapter twenty-four against the deception of antichrist but never uses the singular in His references. |

A man as yourself who supports a church that sells Christ’s merits and the inquisition, and the crusades, and the reign of bloody Mary. and a gospel that says God gives grace to those who do their level best. A Papacy that takes their place above Hitler in the history of killing, and you want to compare Mr Paisley, a preacher of free grace and the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Nazis. Repent of your wickedness and condemnation of Christ’s gospel Jim. Repent of your usurping the atonement and incarnation from our Lord. Deny yourself and your wicked works righteousness and pick up your cross and follow Him in faith alone, and you can be saved. Because what awaits yo can is far worse than any bullying by American Nazis. Repent and believe Jim. God is calling you to salvation!

Jim, only the righteouness imputed to you thru faith alone in Christ alone can save you. If you are you are standing in the works righteousness born out of love in merits and demerits thru sacramental efficacy of the RC system that wont save you because thats not the gospel.

MacArthur explains in his comentary ” with humble trusting dependence, and the recognition of having achieved nothing of value or virtue.”

Tim, I just caught a point you bring up in Thess. 2 ” all deception of wickedness ” to those who perish.” Paul goes on a few verses later that God will send a delusion iver them to believe what is false. This is amazing. Paul is saying that those in this system of Romanism will perish because of this unrighteos deception and God has sent a delusion over these to believe what is false. We must believe they are in a trance which explains Catholics insatiable fixation on the church and its things. We must continue to expose its error, try to break that spell with the Word and gospel, and pray God will have mercy on some removing the eyeglasses of deception. Wow.

Jim, Ian isnt in Purgatory. Purgatory is just the Catholic name for hell where those who dont believe Christ’gospel go. Thats why Roman Catholics speak so often of Purgatory. They are deluded into thinking its the safety net where the merits of another saint are IMPUTED to them. But its the opposite. Its the place where all those who are being justified by their works go.

So, along with the ministers at Bethany Bible in Phoenix, there are some decent protestants who find your delivery out of order.
These guys restore my faith in humanity. It is only on this ugly blog where you can defecate, belch, bray, spew hatred and foam at the mouth and have Tim thank you for articulating the “gospel” so clearly.

Paul says to us in Galatians 5:1 ” For it was for freedom Christ set us free.” Freedom from the curse of the Law Jim brings everlasting peace. and hopefully before the Priest comes in to give you unction, you will trust in Christ alone for your salvation. Tim, I was reading scripture tonight and this verse that I have read many times reinforced the jist of Dear Mr Paisley’s right assesment that Roman Catholicism is the antithesis to Christ and his gospel. Romans 9: 31,32 ” but Israel, pursuing a law of fighteouness, did not arrive at that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.” The conlflation of law and gospel has always been the seed of corruption in Christianity. It corrupts faith at its core.
